Palty Bleach and Caramel Latte review

Ive been meaning to dye my hair a lighter color since last summer, however i was always too chicken to use bleach on my hair, in fears of ruining my hair since my hair type is more on the dryer side. However because asian hair is just so dark its simply not an option to not use bleach (in any amount or color) if i were to go lighter.

Fortunately, a few of my friends have used palty before and told me its not as terrible on asian hair as normal drugstore brand dyes, so i opted to try it out since it is cheaper than going to a salon.

I used Palty Bleach and the caramel latte brown as my dyes, bought 2 boxes of each since i had mid-back length hair. Unfortunately even if my hair was layered it there was still too much hair and not enough dye >_>... will go into that later.

The package of bleach comes with these things, pretty typical dye items, notice the box on the side with the bottle for the bleach solution. When it was mixed and shaken, it only fill about almost halfway of the bottle =_=. I ended up not having enough bleach so parts of my hair on the underneath was darker. Its not unfixable, and it was a good thing it was only the undersides of one side we ended up not being able to color.

I am releived to say that the normal dye actually came with MORE dye than the bleach kit, each bottle having 2/3's of it filled, so i didn't run out of dye for that.

The chart was pretty accurate, though i noticed the only parts that were dyed to the lightest color were the parts that were touched by the dye FIRST. Factoring the fact that it took 15minutes to apply it and i actually waited 40 minutes instead of thirty, safe to say that on my fine, dry hair type it didn't work as well. (It also may be because i dyed it dark brown before that though this was my first bleaching) The rest of my hair looked like the darkest hair, except more orangey.
Accurate representation of what my hair color was after bleach.
My hair was a dark brown (almost black) before with 3 inches of roots showing.

After i bleached and applied the caramel latte dye, i realized i had a gradient effect on my hair. This may probably be because when bleach was applied it was applied from TOP to ends, while when the hair dye was applied it was applied from bottom to roots LAST. It gave me a gradient light to mid brown effect that was a happy accident, since now it won't look so harsh of a change of color.
The top of y hair with no flash, since i gradiented the top part sat in the caramel latte dye for 35 minutes.

My ends looked like this without flash, it kind of sits between the bottom two hears, so i guess it was pretty accurate. Even if my top was significantly lighter. (Though on hindsight that may have been because the bleach sat in my hair for 40 instead of 30 minutes)

Same thing with flash.

Overall it was a pleasant experience, though i recommend people with this length of hair to get 3 boxes of bleach instead of two @_@ Gradient effect was nice, it was lighter at the top than i was hoping for but that can easily be dyed a bit darker in a few months time after i rest y hair pores...

Hopefully this review wasn't a fail.
